Getting Out
Well, my second tour to the Mid East is complete. I wish I had much more to tell, but there really is not much to say about a year spent staving off boredom. I learned how to Salsa Dance, speak some Hindi, and read the Economist. In all honesty I learned a lot of interesting things this year. The Economist taught me about countries I did not even know existed...go ahead try to find Myanmar on a map. Never heard of that one have you!?!
I found out about some great music. I am now a huge fan of Imogen Heap, Frou Frou, The Shins, Robert Johnson, and Jack Johnson to name a few. The biggest surprise was Mile Davis and old school jazz. I have never liked Jazz, because simply put...new Jazz blows. It is just to flowery and it lacks any sense of relevance. The stuff from the 50-60s is just more soulful and emotional. There is an accessibility to it that new jazz lacks.
On the female front, I got rid of more women than picked up. Most importantly I got rid of three particular women that I refer to as "the good, the bad, and the ugly." For those that know about the women that were in my life you know who is who. I figure it is fitting considering the complete metamorphosis my life is currently undergoing. Better to start fresh.
The job hunt made a dramatic change in the last 24 hours. First, Alliance Group accepted to partner with me in my job hunt. This is fairly big considering they are a selective recruiting firm that only accepts the top 25% of officers. Me...the top 25%...who knew?? I sure do not feel like the top of anything. On the other hand, the job I wanted at Compassion International was filled before they ever looked at my application. So I guess God's answers to my prayers in the last 48 hours were pretty resounding.
Well. I am not caught up but I ma tired of typing. So until next time...
